The blackout began on Saturday at 10:20 PM due to a disconnection in an underground medium-voltage line. The incident affected approximately 400 customers and caused significant disruption to the local hospitality sector during peak dinner service hours.
Utility company Endesa had to deploy a generator truck from Lleida, which did not become operational until 5:00 AM on Sunday. Maintenance crews spent Monday working on Generalitat Avenue, where the specific fault was eventually located and repaired.

Local authorities expressed frustration over the lack of infrastructure investment, noting that Rialp has suffered several major power failures over the past 18 months, often during busy tourist weekends.
