The incident began inside a venue in Banyoles when a woman noticed her phone and wallet had been stolen. After leaving the club, the couple was approached by three individuals who claimed to know the thief's identity.

The suspects demanded 100 euros for the information. When the couple refused to pay without proof, the suspects launched a physical attack, kicking and punching the man until he fell to the ground. They then stole a smartphone worth 1,000 euros.

Following a police investigation, the three attackers were identified and brought before a Girona court. Officers also identified a fourth individual responsible for the initial theft inside the nightclub.
