The Clos93 winery, located in El Lloar, the village legend places as "lo mig del món" (the center of the world), advocates for a different way of consuming DOQ Priorat wines. Under the motto "Fem vins com abans, per beure'ls com ara" (We make wines like before, to drink them like now), the project argues that today's consumer seeks wines ready to be enjoyed from the first moment, without having to wait years to consume them.
According to Rubén Sabaté, winemaker and owner of the winery, "people no longer buy wine to keep. They want to buy and drink". He also points out that consumption habits have changed and that, moreover, many people live in homes with little space to store bottles for long periods.
True to the essence of Priorat, Clos93 produces its wines using traditional techniques and artisanal processes, without large infrastructures or modern machinery. In fact, the winery is located in the underground part of the family's grandparents' house, where a way of working is maintained that prioritizes care and respect for the product.
This philosophy allows the wines to be released to the market at their optimal consumption moment, a bet that is receiving a great response. So much so that the winery is practically out of stock, as it markets most of its production with current vintages
