Several municipalities in the Terres de l'Ebre are celebrating their major winter festivals, such as L'Ametlla de Mar with La Candelera, combining them with historical memory days in Tortosa and the Artichoke Festival in L'Aldea.

The main festival of L'Ametlla de Mar, dedicated to its patron saint, the Mare de Déu de la Candelera (Our Lady of Candelaria), runs from January 31 to February 4. The central event is the candle procession on Monday, February 2, which transcends the religious aspect and includes concerts by groups like Rocktambuls and Dj Capde.
Inland municipalities in the Terres de l'Ebre, such as Bot, Tivissa, and La Fatarella, brave the cold to celebrate Sant Blai (Saint Blaise), which lasts until February 9. These winter festivals feature orchestra dances, vermouth concerts, parades, traditional dances, and local cuisine.
On January 31, several municipalities in the Ebre region participate in the Lighting of Fortifications for Human Rights, a solidarity initiative for migrants that originated in the Balearic Islands. In Tortosa, this day coincides with the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust, featuring a special concert by musician Èric Vinaixa dedicated to the poet Roc Llop i Convalia at the Tortosa Museum.
Gastronomy also takes center stage with the second edition of the Artichoke Festival (Festa de la Carxofa) in L'Aldea, held on February 1 at the Sports Pavilion. This event allows visitors to taste the local star product and enjoy activities linked to the municipality's agricultural traditions.
