The president of the Generalitat and first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has publicly expressed his disagreement with the abstention of socialist councilors in Ripoll, which facilitated the approval of Mayor Sílvia Orriols' budget.

During his speech at the party's National Council, Illa emphasized that socialists will always advocate for dialogue and agreements that strengthen coexistence and unity in Catalonia. He firmly stated that they would never support those who promote intolerance and division, as reported by ACN.

"It's not that they simplify reality; they lie directly. When they govern, they impoverish citizens, divide, and confront."

This declaration followed a strong critique of the global far-right, mentioning figures such as Trump and Netanyahu. Illa dedicated a significant portion of his speech to denouncing far-right movements that, according to him, are "endangering the world" and deceiving citizens with "magical solutions".
