The Ripollès Regional Council and the Social Welfare Consortium of Ripollès are organizing the 'Som cos, som orgull' event in Sant Pau de Segúries to advocate for LGBTI+ rights.

The preservation of rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI+) individuals, along with their visibility, are core principles for the Ripollès Regional Council and the Social Welfare Consortium of Ripollès. In this context, and driven by the LGBTI+ Table of Ripollès, both institutions are presenting the 'Som cos, som orgull' (We are Body, We are Pride) event.
This initiative features a program of activities aimed at celebrating the body as a space for memory, identity, and creation, recognizing the history of the LGBTI+ movement as largely a narrative of bodies that have been invisibilized, questioned, or discriminated against. The event will take place on Saturday, July 18th, at the Francesc Estabanell park in Sant Pau de Segúries.
The day will commence at ten in the morning with a storytelling session and an art workshop for all ages, titled “Contes sense històries” (Stories without stories), led by the family project La tribu juganera, which specializes in non-sexist shared games. Following this, the collective Argelaga, an association focused on diversity education, will conduct a workshop on dissident fanzines.
At midday, activities will continue with the presentation of the book “Qui et farà costat” (Who will support you) by Xavier Zanuy. The author, who has ties to Sant Pau de Segúries, will discuss a story centered on a young man burdened by insecurities and prejudices who moves to Barcelona, where his life takes a 180-degree turn. The book presentation will be in conversation with Teia Guillaumes.
The “Som cos, som orgull” program will conclude from one in the afternoon with a workshop on traditional dances with a queer perspective, led by Les xatis del xotis. They describe themselves as a fluid and indeterminate collective of dissident women who gather to enjoy and reinvent folk dancing in a space of empowerment and diversity.
The “Som cos, som orgull” event marks its second year of commemoration in Ripollès, continuing the regional celebration of International LGBTI+ Liberation Day initiated last year. The aim is for this itinerant program to reach all the towns in the region, following last year's first edition held in Campdevànol.
