The Llanars Town Council has recently finished the construction of two petanque courts, a project that began last November and saw its final conditioning work carried out during April. This new recreational infrastructure is strategically located at the entrance of the municipality, right next to the bike path of Passeig mossèn Lluís Suriñach.
The decision to install these courts responds to an explicit request from residents and the council's desire to expand the leisure options available to both locals and visitors. The chosen area, characterized by its shade and proximity to the greenway, is considered ideal for practicing this activity.
“"It's a shaded area, with benches, next to the greenway... it's a suitable place for people to come and spend time. While playing petanque, you chat, you socialize with more people. We think it's a good area and a good activity."
This initiative is part of the Llanars Town Council's commitment to improving public spaces and promoting activities that foster social life and sports, considering them essential drivers for community cohesion. The goal is to offer family-friendly, ecological, and nature-respecting leisure.
