Storm Regina arrives in Catalonia this March, bringing widespread rainfall mixed with Saharan dust and a powerful maritime storm that will primarily impact northeastern counties.

The storm, named by Portugal's meteorological agency, marks the end of last week's high pressure. Meteocat warns that suspended dust from Africa will cause 'muddy rain' before the main front hits on Thursday.
In the Ripollès region, rainfall totals are expected to exceed 150 or 200 l/m². With reservoirs already at 93% capacity, authorities are closely monitoring water levels across the territory.
Heavy snow is forecasted above 2,000 meters, with over a meter of fresh powder expected in areas like Vall de Núria. This 2025-2026 season is already the wettest winter in Catalonia in 30 years.
