The Spanish Government launched emergency repair works this Monday on the A-2 highway between Cervera and la Panadella to fix severe road surface damage caused by recent storms.

The operation covers 3 kilometers in each direction. Work started on the westbound lanes towards Lleida, where the asphalt had significantly deteriorated. Two weeks ago, heavy rain and snow led to partial road collapses and deep potholes, resulting in multiple tire punctures for several drivers.

"It has taken two weeks since the incidents because that is the time required to process the construction contracts."

The total investment for these urgent repairs is approximately 4 million euros. The funding also covers maintenance on the N-260 in Cerdanya and the LL-11 road, addressing infrastructure issues across the region following the winter season.
