The Aquelarre festival in Cervera is preparing for its upcoming edition, which will include a central show dedicated to the city's Millennium and a concert by Doctor Prats.

The city of Cervera is gearing up for the Aquelarre festival, which this year will pay tribute to the city's Millennium and its popular culture. The musical group Doctor Prats will headline the festival, presenting their new album, ‘F5’, celebrating the band's ten-year career.
The festival's presentation, held outside the church of Sant Domènec, was attended by the mayor of Cervera, Jan Pomés, who highlighted the involvement of the local associative fabric. The central show, by Alea Teatre, will focus on the Mad King, a key figure in a dark legend of the capital of Segarra, exploring the monarch's descent into madness under the influence of Lilit.
The production will combine heritage, popular imagination, and visual effects, with the participation of over 200 people and various Cervera entities such as the Ball de Diables de Cervera Carranquers and the Grup de Geganters de Cervera. The Aquelarre night will begin with the traditional lighting at the Universitat and culminate with the appearance of the Mascle Cabró at Cal Racó.
The Fira del Gran Boc, one of the weekend's main attractions, will feature eighty stalls in the courtyard of the Universitat de Cervera, offering esoteric themes, alternative culture, and natural products. The gastronomic offerings will be concentrated on the rambla Lluís Sanpere with food trucks.
The musical lineup also includes performances by emerging bands and DJs such as Partiperes, Mercabanda, Les Wilma’s, The Papa’s and the Popo’s, DJ Spoty, David Beatz, DJ Feren, DJ Drawer, DJ Sendo, Germà Negre, and The Pink Goats.
The Aquelarret, the children's program, will start on August 24th with workshops and a parade for the youngest attendees. Tickets for the central show and the campsite will go on sale soon through the festival's website.
