The Cerdanyola City Council has started rehabilitation works on the listed building Ca n'Ortadó, located in Plaça de Sant Ramon, to fully restore it as the History Museum.

The works, with a budget of 600,000 euros and an estimated duration of five months, will allow the facility to be modernized, improve its accessibility, and adapt it to current needs, ensuring its functionality and energy efficiency.
This comprehensive intervention at Ca n'Ortadó includes roof repair, facade improvements, and the incorporation of energy-saving measures. Inside, the project contemplates the recovery of the ground floor arches and the installation of new lighting.
The goal is to adapt the building to current museum uses while respecting its unique and protected status. Until 2010, the space had already hosted a permanent exhibition on the town's history before being dedicated to administrative uses.
The rehabilitation will promote a new museographic narrative focused on Cerdanyola's industrial history and its evolution into a City of Knowledge. This action coincides with the temporary closure of the Cerdanyola Art Museum for its own renovation.
