The award, with a prize of 6,000 euros, recognizes a series of audiovisual capsules covering the discovery of the Alt Pirineu, ski resorts, and mountain safety. The project, filmed by Marc Santaeulària, is noted for its quality and rigor in promoting the region's attractions.
The award ceremony, held in Lleida, was presided over by the president of the Diputació de Lleida, Joan Talarn, alongside various officials from the Patronat de Turisme and the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya. Talarn emphasized the importance of "explaining the Pyrenees and the Lands of Lleida is also a way of loving our destination" and highlighted the alliance between the Patronat and the Col·legi to promote the area with "quality and rigor".
The 36th edition of the Pica d’Estats Award has recognized works in various categories, including journalistic reports, articles, photography, radio, audiovisual, transmedia, and international press. Among the winners are projects on the Carros de Foc route, the pigments of Catalan Romanesque art in the Vall de Boí, the Noguera Pallaresa river, the Camarasa hydroelectric plant, the Milla Vertical d’Àreu race, the Territori Menut project in the Val d’Aran, Solsona, and Cerdanya, and a report on winter attractions in the Val d’Aran and Alta Ribagorça.
The jury, which met on February 7th in the Sala Polivalent of the Diputació de Lleida, was chaired by Laura Alcalde, then president of the Lleida delegation of the Col·legi de Periodistes de Catalunya, by delegation from dean Joan Maria Morros. The jury also included renowned professionals such as Josep Cuní, Pepa Fernández, Lluís Foix, and Mònica Terribas, among others.
