The Generalitat's Department of Territory committed on Wednesday to the Fòrum Secore in Lleida to finalize the urbanization project for the Torreblanca industrial park by the first quarter of 2027, allowing construction to begin shortly thereafter.

The Secretary General of the Department of Territory, Jordi Terrades, along with other senior officials, communicated the forecast during a meeting with representatives of the main business and union organizations in Lleida. The agreement involves the approval of the master plan for the future industrial park during the first quarter of this year.

The promotion of this project is key to the industrial and logistical development of Ponent, generating economic growth, employment, and competitiveness.

Representatives of the Fòrum Secore, including Jaume Salto (President of the Lleida Chamber of Commerce) and Josep Maria Gardeñes (President of COELL), warned that the accumulated delay could place the Terres de Lleida at a territorial disadvantage compared to neighboring regions advancing similar projects.
The future Torreblanca industrial park will cover approximately 300 hectares and is located near the Tarragona road, heading towards Les Borges Blanques. Procedures for its development were restarted in 2021, after the initial project, promoted by the Generalitat and the Paeria, was stalled following the economic crisis of 2008.
