El Nene de la Vega brings music therapy for the elderly to Lleida

Musician Alejandro Luaces, known as El Nene de la Vega, will present a project in Lleida this Monday, February 23rd, that links popular culture with the emotional well-being of the elderly.

The event will take place at 4:00 PM at the Red Cross headquarters in Lleida, located on Henri Dunant street. Titled En modo mayor: la música como activo de salud desde el salubrismo. Cultura que cuida, the project arrives in the city as the final stop of a national tour.
Luaces aims to create a festive and reflective space where traditional music serves to connect with the life stories of the participants. The goal is to use musical craftsmanship as a tool for community health, involving both health institutions and local associations.
The project leader is a secondary school teacher and a member of the Spanish Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics (SEGG). In addition to his artistic career, Alejandro Luaces has a postgraduate degree in Collective Mental Health and coordinates community health projects in cities like Zaragoza.
