The Government of Catalonia has ratified an updated agreement with Renfe for Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) to operate the RL3 and RL4 commuter lines starting this February.

This decision includes an increase of three daily services on the RL3 line, connecting Lleida and Cervera, and the extension of the RL4 service to Terrassa. Consequently, the Catalan public operator becomes the main railway manager in the Lleida region.
The agreement also establishes that FGC Rail will take over the operation of 14 stations currently managed by ADIF, including Mollerussa, Tarrega, and Cervera. The goal is to upgrade facilities and provide a consistent service across the regional network.
Planned investments focus on safety improvements and the installation of the ERTMS-2 European speed control system to ensure interoperability with the international rail network.
