Writer Josep Maria Carles is set to present his new book Lo fill del sagristà this Saturday in Lleida, detailing his extraordinary upbringing living inside the city's Cathedral.

The book, released by Pagès Editors, explores the life of the last lay sacristan's family. Carles, born in 1955, lived in a top-floor apartment within the cathedral walls until the residence was eventually closed in 1994.

"As a child, I was embarrassed to say I lived in the Cathedral; I was terrified of writing my address."
