The initiative aims to create a reliable rail service tailored to the territory's needs. Preliminary studies suggest the connection could serve 30.000 regular users and reach 700.000 passengers per year, provided there is a frequency of seven to ten trains per direction.

The project is particularly relevant given the strong industrial growth in the area. It is estimated that 5.000 new jobs will be created in the A-22 highway corridor over the next two years. This economic boom is putting pressure on housing and mobility, making a public transport alternative urgent.
The final technical proposal will be submitted in the spring to the Generalitat of Catalonia, the Government of Aragon, and the Ministry of Transport. Reaching a three-way agreement is the main challenge for an infrastructure intended to unify an economic area beyond administrative borders.
