Lleida CF concluded their season without an away victory, after a clear 4-1 defeat against L'Escala in their final road trip of the campaign.

The Lleida squad, whose relegation was already confirmed, approached the match with a lineup featuring less common players, including the league debut of goalkeeper Olivera and Riku Akashi, the latter in the second half. The encounter, with nothing at stake, reflected the difficulties the team has endured throughout the championship.
The game started at a frantic pace, with L'Escala quickly taking the lead. In the 5th minute, Umaru opened the scoring, and just five minutes later, Expósito extended the advantage with a header, making it 2-0. However, Lleida's reaction was almost immediate, with Aleix León narrowing the gap in the 11th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box, making it 2-1.
Despite the visitors' better moments, another defensive error allowed Umaru to complete his brace, establishing a 3-1 lead. After the break, Lleida tried to react, creating several clear chances, such as one by Guido in the 53rd minute and another by Óscar Rubio. But the decisive goal came from Sanku, a former Lleida player, who finished off a play to set the final score at 4-1.

"It's true that we have been the worst team in the group, and in the end, these things happen to us."

Jordi Cortés · Lleida CF Coach
Lleida CF coach, Jordi Cortés, reflected on the defeat, noting that a lack of competitive tension can lead to errors. He also referred to the importance of the upcoming match, which could be crucial for the club's future, expressing his wish that they do not have to "mourn" once again.
