The Lleida City Council will approve on February 25 the launch of an architectural competition to rehabilitate the old bus station on Saracibar Street, a 5,400-square-meter site.

The transformation project for this public facility must incorporate 61 ideas proposed by 291 residents during a participatory process. Buses are expected to stop using this terminal during the first quarter of 2026, when the new station opens.

"It must revolutionize the Historic Center sector, the Commercial Axis, and the Instituts-Sant Ignasi neighborhood; we want it to generate a new centrality."

Participants will have 90 days to submit their proposals. A professional jury will select the finalists, which will be publicly exhibited in Lleida for citizens to provide feedback before a binding decision is made.
