The Ebro Hydrographic Confederation reported this February 2026 that the main reservoirs in the Segre basin have reached high capacity levels, ensuring water security for the summer.

The water situation in Catalonia has drastically changed over the last two years. The Rialb reservoir is currently at 89.2% of its total capacity, a significant recovery from the 29% recorded in February 2024.
The Oliana reservoir is also nearly full at 90.2%. In the Noguera Pallaresa basin, the Terradets and Camarasa dams are at maximum levels, while Canelles has quadrupled its reserves compared to two years ago.

"We expect these volumes of water available as snow to generate additional flows that will allow us to face the high-consumption summer campaigns with maximum guarantees."

According to Meteocat, snow accumulation in the Pyrenees is exceptional this year. In areas like Pallars Sobirà, snow depth reaches 183 centimeters, which is one meter above the historical average.
