More than 1,500 young people attended the first day of the FormaOcupa fair in Lleida this Thursday, where forty companies are offering a hundred specialized job positions.

The nineteenth edition of the event filled the Fira de Lleida pavilions with students seeking educational guidance after secondary school or a job opportunity. Participating companies from technology to food sectors noted the difficulty in finding staff with specific technical qualifications.

"We are looking for elevator maintenance workers, and the problem is that a specific degree is required that is not easily validated with any vocational course."

Companies like Group Saltó and Sic24 highlighted a shortage of computer engineering profiles and security system installers. Recruitment managers pointed out that many young professionals prefer to move abroad, complicating the filling of local vacancies.
