The Pallars Regional Hospital in Tremp launched a new MRI scanner this February 2026 to provide local diagnostic services to the community.

This new equipment addresses a long-standing demand and will prevent approximately 1,500 annual trips to hospitals in Lleida. Previously, some residents from Vall Fosca or Pallars Sobirà faced five-hour round trips for these tests.

"It is an important day, not only for the people of Pallars but also for the hospital, as high-end technology is incorporated."

Leandre Fernández · Clinical Director of Diagnostic Imaging in Lleida
Medical director Eduard Sanjurjo emphasized that the machine will help reduce waiting lists across the Lleida province. Radiology staff underwent specialized training to operate the new equipment immediately.
