The Mossos d'Esquadra police force has launched an investigation into at least two burglaries at residential properties in Torrefarrera, Segrià, which took place last weekend.

The incidents occurred in two neighboring detached houses on Alzinar Street. Thieves reportedly took advantage of the residents' absence to break into the buildings. Police are currently checking if other nearby homes were also targeted during the same night.

"Isolated robberies can happen from time to time, but this is the first time it has happened to several houses at once."

The Torrefarrera Town Council met with police officials this week to address the security concerns. Authorities have committed to increasing surveillance and implementing necessary measures to prevent further criminal activity in the residential area.
This modus operandi has been observed in other towns across the Lleida region, such as Alfarràs and Castellserà. Criminals often wait for local festivities when residents are away from home to commit these crimes without being detected.
