Two men have been remanded in provisional custody without bail in Lleida, accused of the death of a 22-year-old man who fell down a light well after a fight last Sunday.

The Court of Instruction No. 1 in Lleida ruled this Wednesday for the imprisonment of the two individuals. The victim fell nearly ten meters down the light well of a building on Valentí Almirall street, following a dispute with the detainees, with whom he shared an occupied flat.
Initially, the young man was rushed in critical condition to Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Lleida, but he succumbed to his injuries hours later. According to the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC), the judicial case is open for the crimes of homicide, injury, and failure to render aid. The investigation will continue under the jurisdiction of Court No. 1, which is competent due to the date of the events.

The case is open for the crimes of homicide, injury, and failure to render aid.

Sources close to the investigation have indicated that the two detainees and the victim shared a room, and fights were frequent. In fact, on Sunday morning, there had already been an argument, and the previous Saturday also saw an altercation that required police intervention.
On Monday, a reconstruction of the events took place at the residence, located on the third floor, second door, of number 3 on Valentí Almirall street, with the presence of the Mossos d'Esquadra and the two detainees. Officers from the Scientific Police also participated in the proceedings.
One of the key pieces of evidence for investigators is that neither of the two arrested individuals alerted authorities about the fall, despite being present at the home. It was another neighbor from the building who went to the Guardia Urbana police station, located less than 100 meters away, to report the incident.
