Inflation in Lleida dropped by more than one percentage point in January to 1.6%, driven mainly by a sharp decline in clothing and footwear prices during the winter sales.

According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE), Lleida experienced the most significant price decrease among the four Catalan provinces. This year-on-year variation is the lowest recorded since September 2024.
The clothing and footwear sector led the decline with a 3.3% annual drop, while monthly prices in this category plummeted by 12.9% compared to December. Conversely, insurance and financial services saw the highest increase at 5.2%.
Lleida's inflation rate remains below the Catalonia average of 2% and the national Spain average, where the Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 2.3% at the end of the month.
