The crime and noir fiction festival El Segre de Negre has closed its tenth edition in Lleida, celebrating two days packed with activities and receiving a very positive response from the public.

The city of Lleida has solidified its position as a benchmark for the noir genre with the tenth edition of the El Segre de Negre festival. Over two days, the event offered a wide array of proposals that were met with an excellent reception from attendees. According to organizational sources, several activities had to close registrations due to high demand, with an average attendance of 70 to 80 people per event.
The director of Pagès Editors, one of the organizing entities along with the IEI and the Provincial Council (Diputació), highlighted the "very positive" assessment of the festival. The commitment to "changing venues and doing different things" has been successful, and the intention to continue expanding the program in future editions has been confirmed.
Yesterday's program began with the theatrical literary route "10 years of crime scenes in Lleida", guided by actors Albert Anguera and Martí Monerris. Participants toured key city locations linked to fictional crimes created by authors from the Ponent region, such as Marta Alòs or Montse Sanjuan, offering a new perspective of the city through its literary settings.
In parallel, the Morera Museum hosted the family activity "Let's be detectives at the Morera!". The owner of the bookstore El Genet Blau, Mertxe París, explained that around 60 participants, including adults and children, solved clues to uncover the fictional culprit behind a painting's disappearance, becoming investigators for a day. París described the activity as "very fun" and with "great participation from families".
The schedule continued with a round table at the bookstore La Irreductible, inspired by the novel "Crim al bancal" by journalist and writer Juan Cal, and moderated by Raquel Fontecha. Writers Maribel Torres, Joan Carles Ventura, and Miquel Reverté participated.
In the afternoon, the courtyard of the IEI served as the stage for more round tables and literary gatherings on crime in Ponent. Authors such as Quintí Casals, Felip Gallart, Francesca Coll, Xavier Theros, and Pep Tuldrà, moderated by Juan Cal, discussed the narrative mechanisms of the noir genre. Also noteworthy was the participation of Anna Maria Villalonga, who reviewed her career and reflected on Catalan crime literature, alongside Rafa Melero, Raquel Gámez-Serrano, David Casals-Roma, and Susana Hernández, who analyzed current trends.
