The Catalan Government, led by Salvador Illa, has approved the new budget featuring a total investment of 146.9 million euros for the Lleida plains region this year.

The Segrià district is the main recipient, with 82.9 million euros. Key projects in Lleida city include 9.5 million for a new regional police headquarters and 6.8 million for surgical block renovations at the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital.
Irrigation infrastructure remains a priority, with one out of every four euros dedicated to systems such as the Segarra-Garrigues and the Urgell Canal. This investment aims to modernize water distribution across the agricultural heartland.
Additional funding includes 5.2 million for the Ponent prison and 5 million for Alguaire Airport. Other nearby areas like les Garrigues and Noguera will receive 20.7 million and 16.4 million euros respectively for road and environmental projects.
