Hundreds of teachers took to the streets in a demonstration this Wednesday in Lleida, participating in the second day of a unified strike called across Catalonia to demand labor and salary improvements.

The mobilization, which brought together over 500 people including teachers and students, began at 9:30 AM from the Official School of Languages (EOI). Participants marched along the C-12 road to the Escoles Alba, equipped with water, hats, and umbrellas to cope with the heat.
Through this action, teachers aimed to voice their demands at a crucial stage of negotiations with the Department of Education. The organizing unions, such as USTEC, CGT, Professors de Secundària, and Intersindical, have highlighted that the mobilizations have been key to opening dialogue with the department.
While acknowledging that a negotiation channel has been opened, union representatives insist that the proposals presented by the Department so far are insufficient to meet the demands of the teaching staff, thus maintaining tension and the strike call.
