The Palau de Vidre, located in the Camps Elisis of Lleida, has reached the final of the Catalunya Construcció awards in the energy rehabilitation category. This achievement, thanks to the restoration carried out between 2024 and 2025, makes it the first building from Lleida to reach this stage in the 23 editions of this competition, organized by the Col·legi d'Aparelladors de Barcelona.
“"We have tried to respect 90% of the original project and we believe it is a reform that can truly be perceived."
The rehabilitation project of the Palau de Vidre has stood out for its innovation in energy efficiency. Glass of different thicknesses and types has been installed to optimize thermal insulation, adapting to the conditions of each facade. In addition, a home automation system (BMS) has been implemented, allowing for automated and remote management of the building's climate control and lighting. The winners of these awards will be announced on May 14.
Concurrently, a block of 44 apartments located on Ramon Rubial street, in the Copa d'Or area of Lleida, has been selected as a finalist in the international Baumit Life Challenge 2026 competition. This award recognizes architecture, energy efficiency, and excellence in facade design. The project, named Aire Residencial, includes homes of various sizes with green areas, swimming pools, and communal spaces. The awards ceremony will take place in Budapest this month.
The design of the residential block has been conceived to integrate into the urban landscape of the area, with a special emphasis on sustainability and bioclimatism. All apartments in this complex have already been sold, demonstrating the interest in architectural proposals that combine design and environmental respect.
