The assaults began on March 5 in the area of Mercè Street, a location featuring a retirement home, a CAP (primary care center), and a church, highlighting the victims' vulnerability. Police emphasized that the women's fragility and the violence used led to two of them being hospitalized due to their injuries.
According to victim and witness statements, the perpetrators were very young and operated in groups. Between two and four youths would pounce on the victim, while others supported the action. After the snatching, they would flee together towards the Blocs Joan Carles.
From the outset, the Mossos launched a thorough investigation, gathering details of the incidents and security camera footage. Patrols identified groups of young people congregating in the area. On March 23, officers identified two minors on the street who matched the descriptions and images obtained. From that day forward, no further incidents were reported.
Investigators continued to analyze the evidence and confirmed that the two identified minors were indeed two of the main individuals involved in the snatchings. This Thursday, the Mossos arrested them in the same neighborhood and placed them at the disposal of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office. The investigation remains open to identify the other youths who participated in the incidents.
