The Unió de Pagesos union presented its electoral program this Friday in Lleida for the upcoming agrarian elections on February 27, focusing on wildlife and irrigation.

The main pillars of the campaign in the Ponent, Alt Pirineu, and Aran regions include the modernization of the Urgell Canal and the management of hunting fauna. The union aims to remain the leading force in the Taula Agrària.

"Forest coverage must be guaranteed so that the geolocation technologies worn by bears and wolves are effective for farmers."

Regarding irrigation, Rossend Saltiveri, UP pig farming representative, stated that modernization should be optional and supported by more public funding to combat future droughts.
