The Civil Guard has launched a new mobile Weapons Intervention unit, which made its first visit to Les Borges Blanques on April 15, 2026, with the aim of bringing services closer to weapon owners in the Lleida demarcation.

This initiative, presented by the sub-delegate of the Government in Lleida, José Crespín, seeks to simplify procedures for residents outside the capital, saving them long journeys. The mobile unit will allow for procedures such as the issuance or renewal of weapon permits, the issuance of ownership guides, and the transfer of weapon ownership between individuals, among other procedures covered by the Weapons Regulation.

"To bring the services provided by the Civil Guard closer to weapon owners living outside the capital to avoid long journeys and facilitate their access to certain procedures."

José Crespín · Sub-delegate of the Government in Lleida
The Lleida demarcation has approximately 20,000 weapon licenses, of which more than 10,300 correspond to type E licenses (hunting shotguns and sport shooting weapons) and 7,600 to type D licenses (big game hunting). During 2025, 1,332 in-person appointments related to these services were attended.
After its debut in Les Borges Blanques, the mobile unit has scheduled upcoming visits to other towns in the province. Confirmed dates include April 22 in Ponts, April 28 in Maials, and May 5 in Mollerussa, thus expanding the coverage of this essential service.
