This figure represents nearly three-quarters of the total amount paid across all of Catalonia, which reached 80.3 million euros. The other provinces received 7.9 million in Barcelona, 6 million in Girona, and 5.6 million in Tarragona. Lleida is thus confirmed as the Catalan province most affected by agricultural losses.
Of the total 80.3 million euros compensated in Catalonia, more than half (48.6 million) corresponds to damages caused by hailstorms recorded between April and July. These phenomena particularly impacted Lleida's fruit crops, generating losses of 20 million euros in a single day.
“"It is the second highest amount, only surpassed by the 2023 figure, resulting from the drought registered that year."
Regarding the distribution by crop type, 40 million euros of the compensation was allocated to fruit crops. Cereal and vegetable garden crops received 10.1 million euros, while livestock herds accounted for 27.5 million euros in payments.
The indemnities paid in Catalonia are part of the 804 million euros in total claims that Agroseguro has paid throughout Spain during the 2025 period.
