The ceremony, held at the National Center for Working Conditions and chaired by delegate Carlos Prieto, honored a total of 13 recipients for their outstanding work in protecting people and assets during emergency situations. The sub-delegate of the Government in Lleida, José Crespín, also attended the event.
One of the awardees from the Lleida demarcation was Josep Lluís Valls, president of the Civil Protection Volunteers Association (AVPC) of Lleida since its inception in 1997. The award recognizes his trajectory, commitment, and the consolidation of an effective and supportive structure, extending collaboration to other municipalities in the province.
The other recognition went to Sisco Maranges, president of the Association Against Cancer in Lleida. He is distinguished for promoting the Summer Camps that the entity has organized continuously for 25 years in the Val d'Aran, a national benchmark for comprehensive care for minors with cancer.
This initiative underscores the commitment of the social fabric in Lleida to prevention, care, and support. Furthermore, Maranges has significantly contributed to visualizing the specific needs of oncology patients in rural and mountainous areas.
