The firm Dapibus, founded in 2021 and currently operating in Abrera (Barcelona), focuses on feeding black soldier fly larvae to obtain animal protein and fat. The process also yields material for organic fertilizers.

The president of the consortium and mayor of Torrebesses, Mario Urrea, highlighted that the area around Seròs offers both the organic waste needed to feed the larvae and local farms to sell the final product. He also mentioned the possibility of applying for aid from the Generalitat's nuclear fund.

The Consorci del Segrià Sud brings together twelve municipalities in the area: Alcanó, Almatret, Aspa, La Granja d’Escarp, Llardecans, Maials, Massalcoreig, Sarroca de Lleida, Seròs, Sunyer, Torrebesses, and Torres de Segre.
