Defender Igor Irazu has joined Atlètic Lleida during the winter transfer window, arriving from Colonia Moscardó, a club marked by the controversial statements of its president, Javi Poves.

The signing of Igor Irazu by Atlètic Lleida, one of the notable moves of the winter market, represents a change of scenery for the defender. The player arrives in the capital of Segrià from Colonia Moscardó, a team competing in the Segunda RFEF (Spanish fourth tier), the same division.
The main difference for Irazu lies in the institutional environment. Colonia Moscardó is owned and chaired by Javi Poves, a former Sporting de Gijón footballer who gained media notoriety a few years ago for his public claims that the Earth is flat and that man never reached the Moon.
Poves, who until recently also served as the team's coach, was known for his tendency to openly criticize his players after defeats. His recent decision to leave the bench was accompanied by an unusual explanation.

"I am not energetically well received in the locker room"
