This historic milestone is the result of a collaboration agreement between the club, located in the capital of Segrià, and the Down Lleida association. The main objective is to break barriers and highlight that people with intellectual disabilities have a proper place in highly competitive environments.
With this incorporation, the club positions itself as one of the few professional entities in Spain committed to a truly inclusive technical structure. Indiana Solà, originally from Santa Llúcia de Mur (Castell de Mur), was received "with open arms" by the players and coaching staff from her very first day.
“"She is very excited and happy."
Solà, who is very passionate about sports, will combine her work at AEM, where she will work about two days a week, with her training and job preparation activities at Down Lleida. The young woman currently lives in Lleida in one of the association's shared flats, fostering her autonomy and independent living.
The AEM Lleida board hopes that Indiana Solà's case will serve as an example for other sports entities to adopt more social, open, and unprejudiced models, demonstrating that inclusion is a way of understanding society.
