The new storm, originating in Ireland, has settled in the west of the territory, bringing scattered rainfall to northern and central Lleida. The Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees in Lleida are already recording snowfall at low altitudes, between 800 and 900 meters, establishing a fully winter environment.
The worst of the storm will arrive next week with a second low-pressure system bringing strong Levante winds, very heavy rainfall, and abundant snowfall.
The Meteocat (Catalan Meteorological Service) has activated the orange warning for intense rainfall in Ripollès (Girona), Berguedà (Barcelona), and Solsonès (Lleida). The most affected areas over the weekend will be Barcelona and its metropolitan area, where showers may be accompanied by thunderstorms.
The instability will persist until Sunday, with the snow line fluctuating between 1,000 and 1,200 meters. By Tuesday, the storm will shift towards southern Lleida and Tarragona, notably featuring strong wind gusts that could generate waves up to eight meters high on the Costa Brava.
