The Lleida Provincial Council, through the Municipal Cooperation area, allocates resources to improve essential services and cultural heritage, ensuring quality of life and local development across all Lleida counties.

The counties of Lleida continue to roll out initiatives aimed at guaranteeing access to quality services, regardless of the municipality's size. The campaign “La força de les oportunitats” frames this objective, focusing on projects that strengthen community life. The Municipal Cooperation area of the Lleida Provincial Council plays a central role, providing economic and technical support to local councils. This line of work includes “Poble petit, gran vida” (Small Town, Great Life), an initiative highlighting the options for living and starting businesses in smaller communities.
This support materializes in the improvement of social facilities, the adaptation of municipal infrastructure, and the maintenance of basic services. Common actions include the rehabilitation of civic centers, upgrades to sports facilities, and the renovation of meeting spaces. Furthermore, local councils, especially the smaller ones, receive technical advice on urban planning, legal matters, and project management, strengthening their capacity to drive initiatives with a direct impact on daily well-being.
Culture and heritage are consolidated as strategic areas for generating cohesion and activity. The Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs (IEI) promotes historical recovery projects, such as the recent restoration of the Pedrolo Family Books, two 16th-century documents linked to the lineage of the writer Manuel de Pedrolo. Also noteworthy is the reproduction of the second sepulchre of the Counts of Urgell, the double tomb of Àlvar I and Cecília de Foix, installed at the Monestir de les Avellanes, visually recovering a key heritage element.
These cultural initiatives, along with the programming of cycles and exhibitions by the IEI, aim to bring culture to all counties, with special attention to municipalities with fewer facilities. The combination of renovated municipal services, quality of life, and vibrant culture reinforces the idea that opportunities can extend from Ponent (Western Catalonia) to every corner, activating the community and generating new avenues for local development.
