Lleida Ranks Near Bottom in Salaries Among Catalonia's Largest Municipalities

The capital of Segrià is positioned twentieth out of 23 major Catalan cities, recording an average gross annual salary of 28,188 euros.

Workers in Lleida received an average gross annual salary of 28,188 euros last year, placing the city in the twentieth position of the ranking of 23 major Catalan municipalities, according to Idescat data.

This figure, which represents a year-on-year increase of 4.3%, places Lleida salaries 11.21% below the Catalan average, which stood at 31,746 euros last year. The ranking, published by the Statistical Institute of Catalonia (Idescat), is led by Sant Cugat del Vallès (54,549 euros) and closed by Santa Coloma de Gramenet (26,003 euros).
Within the city of Lleida, the sector with the highest salaries was public administration, Defense, and mandatory Social Security, averaging 37,844 euros gross annually. This was followed by communications, financial, and real estate activities, with 35.989 euros annually.

The gender gap in Lleida placed the average salary for women at 27,073 euros, 7.16% below what men received.

At the opposite end of the salary scale, the lowest incomes were recorded in artistic, recreational, and other services, with only 18,768 euros. Professionals in transport, storage, and hospitality also had low averages, at 19,552 euros annually.
Regarding the gender gap, the average male salary in Lleida was 29,160 euros annually, while the female average, often more affected by part-time work and temporary contracts, was 27,073 euros.
