The Mayor of Lleida, Fèlix Larrosa, announced that the construction of Promenade Lleida, the city's first shopping center, will officially begin on February 26 with the cornerstone laying ceremony.

This initial phase of the works, located in Torre Salses, involves an investment of 43 million euros and will focus on erecting a building designed to house various commercial operators.

During the same meeting with the press, Larrosa also announced the creation of a new mayoral commissionership. This role will be responsible for overseeing the proper functioning and condition of the city's public spaces.

The new commissioner will coordinate municipal services and concessionary companies, and will have an inspection body with sanctioning power to ensure compliance with regulations.
