The Tossa de Mar Town Council has released the findings of an exploratory walk conducted in October to analyze public safety from the perspective of women and gender minorities.

A group of 16 women aged between 16 and 76 participated in the study, identifying key areas where a lack of lighting and visibility creates a sense of insecurity. Notable locations include the Platja Gran beach area, the cemetery parking lot, and Sa Riera Park.
The report also points out discomfort in isolated areas or places with a dominant male presence, such as the path near the CAP health center. Participants also called for better sidewalk maintenance and improved accessibility across the town center.
These results will guide future municipal projects, including the creation of a public restroom network and the upgrading of street furniture to ensure Tossa de Mar becomes a more inclusive and safe environment.
