Two residents of an apartment building in Lloret de Mar were evacuated early this Friday morning due to a kitchen fire that filled the building with smoke.

The Bombers de la Generalitat (Catalan Firefighters) responded to Sant Cristòfol street in Lloret de Mar after receiving an alert in the early hours. Three units were dispatched to the scene, where they observed a significant amount of white smoke emanating from the three-story building.
The initial investigation by the emergency services suggests that the fire originated from a pot that the occupants of the dwelling had left on the stove. This oversight led to a large accumulation of smoke that spread throughout the different floors of the block.
As a precautionary measure, the two residents of the affected property were evacuated while the Bombers extinguished the flames and carried out ventilation tasks to clear the smoke from the building.
Personnel from the Local Police of Lloret de Mar and the Sistema d'Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) also attended the incident. Despite the scare, no injuries were reported.
