A fire on a moored vessel at Club de Vela Blanes activated emergency protocols this Wednesday at noon, mobilizing various services without any reported injuries.

The incident occurred around 12:30 PM at the central dock of Club de Vela Blanes, in an area away from the main access points. A port employee detected smoke emanating from a yacht and immediately activated the emergency protocol.
Personnel from the Local Police, Civil Protection, Generalitat Firefighters, and Mossos d'Esquadra were dispatched to the scene. These agencies cordoned off the area to facilitate firefighting efforts and ensure safety. Port staff also actively collaborated.
To prevent the spread of the flames, nearby vessels were moved away from the affected yacht. The fire, which impacted a boat approximately 14 meters in length, was quickly brought under control, limiting damage to the interior of the vessel.
Although the causes of the fire are still under investigation, initial hypotheses suggest a possible short circuit as the origin. The owner of the vessel, who does not reside in Blanes, was informed and contacted the maintenance person to check the boat's condition after the incident.
