The increase in flow is already noticeable in the Ter river, which registers 70.9 m³/s near La Cellera de Ter. In the city of Girona, the flow is 47.3 m³/s, which has forced the closure of the Sobrànigues ford, located in Sant Jordi Desvalls, to vehicle traffic.
This preventive measure does not only affect the Ter basin. The ACA has also increased the water output at the Foix reservoir, rising from 0.3 to 1.5 m³/s. Meanwhile, controlled releases are maintained at the Baells and Darnius-Boadella reservoirs at a constant flow of 5 m³/s.
The Agency calls for extreme caution and reminds the public of the importance of avoiding approaching riverbeds and not crossing fords or low points, even after the rain has stopped.
The main goal of the Catalan Water Agency is to minimize the risk of flooding ahead of the anticipated weather event. Therefore, the body insists on the need for citizens to follow safety recommendations.
