The Colla Gegantera TonCamp organizes the second edition of the Yule Giants Gathering, a Nordic-inspired event set to fill the historic center of Solsona this Sunday, January 18.

The day evokes the celebration of the winter solstice, known as Viking Christmas (Yule), which commemorates the rebirth of light after the long nights. The event is closely linked to Solsona's giant, the Nòrdic, which represents the characters Finn and Astrid, inspired by the aesthetics of ancient Germanic peoples.
The festival will begin at 09:30 h with the giants' display (plantada) in the Plaça del Camp. Subsequently, at 11:00 h, the parade (cercavila) will start, touring the old town of Solsona, culminating at 13:00 h with traditional dances in the square, enlivened by the Xaranga Estrella Band.

The charismatic figure of the Nòrdic giant will be the symbol of the event and will reflect the Nordic spirit of the festivity, recalling the ancient gatherings around the fire.

Ten colles from across Catalonia will participate in the gathering, including the Gegants d’Olesa de Bonesvalls, the Capgrossos de Martorell, and the Nanos i Gegants de Vinaròs. Furthermore, the giant Elena, celebrating 30 years in 2026, will debut new attire along with the Gegant Vell, prepared at the Taller d’Escultura Casserres.
