Renowned mountain runner Núria Picas was revealed this Saturday as the Mata-ruc d'Honor of the Solsona Carnival, presiding over the unveiling of a satirical monument in the Town Hall Square.

The identity of the special guest was kept secret until this afternoon in the capital of the Solsonès region. Picas joined the celebration for the inauguration of a figure representing Donald Trump, humorously renamed Donald Tremp, who is depicted as the new leader of the festival association.
Under the slogan Make Carnival great again, the monument satirizes international politics by proposing fake news bans and the annexation of nearby towns. The display highlights the traditional 'bata' (smock) worn in Solsona, jokingly suggesting the deportation of anyone dressed in standard costumes.
Following the ceremony, Núria Picas toured the historic center to experience the street festivities firsthand. At the same time, local carnival groups organized various games and activities throughout the traditional market for all attendees to enjoy.
