The town of Solsona celebrated the main events of its Carnival this Saturday, maintaining its reputation as one of Catalonia's most irreverent festivals despite challenging weather conditions.

Strong winds did not stop the locals from gathering in the Plaça Major. The parade featured the iconic Gegants Bojos (Crazy Giants) and was accompanied by the Patinfanjàs orchestra, which is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. Due to logistics, the main parade was limited to 700 participants.
This year's theme focused on the 50th anniversary of Francisco Franco's death, featuring satirical performances such as the dismantling of a Valle de los Caídos model. The night reached its climax at the Torre de les Hores with the traditional hanging of the paper-mâché donkey.

"The Solsona Carnival shouldn't be explained, it must be experienced."
