The Solsonès Health Center began performing pharmacological voluntary terminations of pregnancy in early 2026, ensuring safe and accessible service provision in the area.

The Centre Sanitari del Solsonès has received administrative authorization from the Departament de Salut and approval of the assistance procedure by the Servei Català de la Salut to offer voluntary termination of pregnancy (VTP) using medication.

Access to the service is guaranteed to be close, equitable, and safe.

This non-surgical procedure, usually indicated for the first weeks of gestation, was performed for the first time in early 2026. The process includes continuous professional monitoring and patient support.
To access pharmacological VTP, patients must request an appointment with their general practitioner or reference nurse. These professionals transfer the request to the midwife, who is responsible for evaluating the case and initiating the corresponding protocol.
