The fire started in a fourth-floor apartment of a multi-family building and quickly spread up the facade to the attic. The 28 personnel from the Bombers de la Generalitat, who arrived at the scene at 01:31 hours, located the victim, a 54-year-old man, deceased inside the affected flat.
Due to the intensity of the flames, firefighters had to evacuate two people from the fifth floor and rescued two more individuals confined to the attic terrace using an aerial ladder. The remaining residents safely confined themselves to their homes.
The fire was brought under control at 02:06 hours, followed by ventilation and inspection tasks to ensure the structural integrity of the block.
The Medical Emergency System (SEM) treated four people, two of whom were transferred with minor injuries to Hospital Joan XXIII. Once the fire was extinguished, the Mossos d'Esquadra took charge of the judicial proceedings and the investigation to determine the causes of the fire.
